How long have you been doing photography?
I have been doing photography for 35 years now. I do most of my location work in West Sussex, much of Hampshire, Surrey, parts of East Sussex and West Kent, and occasionally a little further afield (if a client will pay me, I’ll travel). However, for some product and fashion work, my client base is worldwide. I also have my own studio in West Sussex.
Please describe your photography style?
Other than studio work where I shoot products, fashion, dance and fine art and glamour nude, I am a natural light and HDR specialist. I also shoot a lot of dance, especially ballet (in which I specialise as I trained as a ballet dancer as a young man).
Aside from taking pictures, what are your other interests?
My two border collies, French wine, brain training, TV talent shows especially X-Factor.
How does a perfect day look like for you?
I’m an early riser and get a good natural foods breakfast, feed the animals, check all the overnight messages, do a bit of editing, then off for a long dog walk. Then it’s shooting, admin and edit work punctuated by a relaxing lunch. Late afternoon is another long dog walk and the evening is a time for relaxation.
Which photographers are you inspired by?
In the studio Monte Zucker, Bev Goodway, Petter Hegre, Patrick Lichfield. On location Julia Margaret Cameron and Bob Carlos Clarke.
What is the best website to read about photography for you?
I am a devotee of Monte Zucker – www.montezucker.com.
Are you a member of a photography organization?
SIFGP, Purpleport, Model Mayhem (and others similar), a former member of the Master Photographers Association and awarded an LMPA there in 1987. I’m also a member of 500px where I had the fastest ever trending art nude image, and quora.com, where I have the most viewed ever art nude image. I am also the highest rated European photographer on freelancer.com
